Before you leap into the process of shopping for a business sign that you expect to get attention for your organization, take a walk through this blog to learn a little about the terminology and types of signs so you can communicate with your favorite sign outfit about what your are looking to accomplish.
LED Signs
At the top of the list are LED Displays or also known as Electronic Message Center Signs. These are the latest in the sign arena that offer lots of messaging opportunities for your customers to see. You can rotate several messages, have full color images and text and you can control it all from the comforts of the inside of your office. Doesn't get any better than that! These usually require an investment of masonry and custom sign fabrication to accomplish but the results are very nice indeed.
Monument Signs
Investing in an LED display sign may not be in the cards right now, but you can get a very nice exterior business sign out front that will attract attention if done with careful planning and design. There are various options that can be used to acheive the look you want, and it usually requires us to take a look at your logo to see what would work well. Good old stone masonry is always a sturdy way to go, combined with a simple flat panel or dimensional lettering. Lighting can be involved either internally of the sign or a spot light on the sign some times provides an excellent dramatic look.
Channel Letters
Post & Panel Signs
Post and panel signs can also be done with a range of prices. They can be done simply with 4x4 treated lumber painted or with ornate poles with a nice finial on top to add character. The panel itself, once again can be as smple as a flat rectangle with full color vinyl graphics applied, or it can be done with routed HDU and painted as seen in the picture above. This type of panel sign provides texture and can be painted for a professional finished look.
Dimensional Lettering
The final type we will review is dimensional lettering. We have done these made with aluminum or with acrylic. Custom logos can be made this way as well but check with us so we can make sure routers can provide the detail sometimes required. Custom or standardized fonts are possible as well. It all depends on the budget and the style you want. It is important to stay as consistent as possible with your branding so recognition is easy for people to remember...think of that famous burger restaraunt found in every country in the world. Just as the name implies, these building signs consist of letters that are thick and placed flat on the wall usually and provide a 3 dimensional look. Of course just about any color is possible with paint involved.
