Spring is a time for renewal and rebranding - and it is the perfect time to install new outdoor signs! With the warmer weather, installation is a breeze, and more eyes are outside, ready to take a look at your sign.

Should you change your sign when your business rebrands? For Yes-MLS, the answer was a definite yes. As a business, you never want your customers to have to guess what your business is called, so a clear and professional sign is the first thing you want to install. Rebranding is a great opportunity to reintroduce your business to your community, current customers and potential customers. A smart business will make sure that they lead with great visuals to make that all important first impression.

When Yes-MLS called us, they were looking for help with a rebranding effort. What they were after was a big impression, which calls for a big sign! Our experts started by removing the old letters, and cleaning up the area, ready for a shiny new sign to be installed.

To make a maximum impact, it was decided that a precise, clean sign of 1/2” thick routed acrylic would be ideal, painted in Yes-MLS’s corporate colors. Using a CNC machine, we custom cut each element of the sign. This technique allows for maximum precision, customization, and durability, creating a sign that will catch attention and create a great first impression.

Once the sign was cut, our experts painted it with commercial outdoor grade paint, an extra durable formula that ensures that the colors will stay fresh for the long run. Then, the letters were fitted with metal studs on the back. This technique allows our expert installers to drill holes, set the elements with adhesive, and create a great looking sign!

Businesses looking to rebrand can talk to our experts and begin the exciting process of designing a whole new look for themselves.

Say “YES!” To Dimensional Wall Letters

Posted by John Grigoli

Jan 22, 2019 8:30:00 AM

Dimensional wall letters are just hard to turn down as an effective way to get your organization noticed. Great for both indoor and outdoor use, dimensional lettering creates a clean, sophisticated look. When installed professionally there’s the suggestion of establishment and permanence. Just say YES!

When Northern Ohio Regional Multiple Listing Service (NORMLS) and Centralized Regional Information Service (CRISmls) decided to consolidate and combine to form a single organization, the merge entailed a name change: Yes-MLS. The newly consolidated service came with a new name and a new logo, which needed to be represented in their offices.
Dimensional Wall LettersAlready familiar with our work, Yes-MLS contacted us to create dimensional lettering to identify their building, as well as to create a directional sign for their driveway. We suggested routed PVC materials, painted to match their new corporate logo colors -- a bold red, black, and white.

We used the new Yes-MLS logo and rendered that in a photo to scale, based on our survey of measrements. Upon Yes-MLS’s approval of the design, we proceeded to obtain the necessary permits from the city for installation -- this is part of the service we provide. Once approved, and after permits were secured, we headed into fabrication for routing, painting, and finishing Yes-MLS’s dimensional graphics.

Cleveland 3d wall lettersOnce the fabrication process was completed, we headed to Yes-MLS for installation. Using their existing white wall as a backdrop, we drilled holes to affix the dimensional wall lettering; dimensional graphics have studs mounted on the back so that they can easily be attached to the surface.

The final product of Yes-MLS’s exterior signage is an eye-catching dimensional design with bold colors that stand out against the existing wall color. Sans serif text makes the company name and street address clear and easy to read for those driving by and perfectly communicates their new corporate identity. The best part of choosing dimensional wall lettering in PVC is that Yes-MLS’s signage will last for many years -- it’s a great low maintenance choice.

If your Cleveland area business is ready to say “Yes!” to dimensional graphics, contact us today to work with our design team to create a design that works with your budget and clearly communicates what your business is all about.

Posted by John Grigoli

Take a look around your office, what do you see? Step outside yourself and really look close. Is it an inviting space or is it cold and bare? The signage displayed in and around your offices can affect not only your employee morale but also client perception. If you’re a customer-oriented business, your interior office signage is your first chance to make a great impression. Make sure your office signs convey the message and atmosphere you want customers and prospects to experience when they walk into your business.

Cleveland Office Signs

What is the first thing you see when you enter your office lobby or reception area? What does the lobby area convey to potential clients? If your reception area is lacking signage or is composed of bare, white walls, it’s time to re-evaluate your lobby office area and make it stand out and feel inviting for all who enter.

Cleveland attorneys and counselors at law, Koblentz & Penvose, LLC recently contacted us to help revamp their reception and office areas. To really make an impact, Koblentz & Penvose chose to use dimensional wall lettering that literally pops!

Fabricated with one-inch thick hard foam lettering and a custom paint color, Koblentz & Penvose chose a design and material that looks durable and heavy but is actually light and easy to handle. Comprised of GemLeaf, the letters are laser cut to create an ultra-clean design, and feature a thin metal laminate that produces a high-quality effect to the finish -- you’d never know that these letters are ultralight!

3d wall letters, Independence, Oh

Measuring twelve-inches tall, Koblentz & Penvose’s office signs were applied by flush mounting them flat, directly to the drywall with strong double stick tape and secured with stud mounts. Gemini letters come with a lifetime warranty if the material should ever fail and are ideal for interior business signs. The entryway to this law office now stands out from the rest!

If you’re looking to update your business space, consider creating custom interior signs to incorporate throughout. Not only will it breathe new life into your existing space, it can inspire employees and leave a positive, lasting impression upon clients. Common Business Sign Issues That Drive Customers Away

Posted by John Grigoli

Apr 17, 2018 8:30:00 AM

We typically talk about signage that helps drive business on the blog, so we decided to change things up a bit today. While there’s no doubt that signs and graphics are an integral part of brand awareness, marketing and communication, signs can also serve to deter potential clients and customers.

Box Truck Wrap Mentor Ohio
Busy signs

Not only do potential customers stray away from signs they can’t read, cluttered or busy signs are skipped over and businesses are bypassed. Less is more, so keep your sign and message clean and simple, and opt for an easy to read font -- while scrolling, handwritten-type fonts may be pleasing to you, customers will likely have a difficult time reading your sign as they quickly speed by in their car. We see this often with truck wraps.

Size matters

One of signage professionals’ cardinal rules is that signs must be of sufficient size or height to be seen from the location in which it’s placed. If a sign is too small, or the lettering too small or crammed together, you’ve wasted your money on signage. Keep it simple, make it large enough to be read easily, and make sure that your sign is placed high enough for optimal visibility (and away from any obstructions).

Wall Sign Ohio

Misspelling

Let’s consider that the Sign Research Foundation (SRF) reports that 34 percent of North American shoppers associate sign quality with store and product quality. If your signs look unprofessional, hastily put together, or worse -- misspelled -- what does that say about your business? Make the investment to work with a sign professional to ensure that your business signage has a clean look and is devoid of any embarrassing misspellings.

Illegible

Using a hard-to-read font is only the start to featuring signage your customers can’t read. When you work with a sign professional, they’re experts in proper letter proportion and spacing; we’ll work with you to create signage that both fits your aesthetic preference and will be easily readable. And last, but not least, sign professionals and designers can work with you to make sure that your color preferences work for you, not against you.

Unkempt

Sign maintenance is of the utmost importance to attracting and retaining customers. If sign quality is equated with store and product quality, consider what your exterior sign is communicating with a lighted letter (or more) out. If your business features an illuminated sign, what’s the point if a bulb is burnt out? Even worse, what is being communicated when signs -- either interior signs or exterior signs -- are grimy, covered in dirt or dust?

Not sure if your current business sign or fleet graphics is turning away customers? Contact us for an audit, to see how we can help your signage properly communicate your business to customers.

You’re likely familiar with the quote, “You never get a second chance to make a first impression,” which especially rings true when it comes to your business’s signage. The lobby is the first thing your customers and clients see when they enter your facility, and very often, it’s your first opportunity to make a lasting impression. Cleveland company, FrameCo, features a lobby sign that literally stands out in their new facility.

 Office Entry Sign

Your entry way sign is critical in branding and representing your business because it’s the first thing clients and customers notice when they enter your business premises. Your lobby’s appearance is what your clients will use to form their initial judgement of your company, and it creates a lasting impression as they leave. Office entry signs typically feature a business name and logo, and FrameCo recently installed a lobby sign that absolutely pops.

Routed from ¼” thick aluminum, FrameCo’s custom lobby sign is cut to work with the accent wall on which it’s mounted. Featuring a center logo, routed out and installed as a separate piece to show the logo shape, FrameCo’s office sign uses the accent wall to give the logo dimension and stand out with bold color. The aluminum surface is nicely finished in satin brush. The larger panel features letters routed from acrylic and applied directly to the panel. Once complete, the entire lobby sign was installed on a masonry wall with decorative offset mounts.

 Office Entry Sign

FrameCo’s lobby sign features a neat, clean font for optimal readability. The size of the lobby sign is appropriate for maximum impact, and the bold color of the accent wall makes their logo stand out, reinforcing their brand identity and creating a lasting impression. You can check out more examples in our gallery.

True ‘Inside’ Marketing For Your Business With Office Signs

Posted by John Grigoli

Feb 22, 2018 9:00:00 AM

It’s always interesting to see how much time, effort and creativity my customers put into marketing their businesses. All business owners know that marketing is the lifeblood of their companies whether they own or manage auto dealerships, property management firms, health care offices, barber shops, boutiques or completely different Cleveland-area businesses.

The problem – even the savviest Cleveland business owners often miss one of the most obvious marketing opportunities available. Indoor signage.

Wall Mural Vally View, Oh

It’s easy to forget that your office signs reinforces all of the marketing and branding you spend many hours and dollars to develop.

As a business owner myself I understand how vital it is to analyze your marketing. Your investment in top-flight advertisements, promotions and branding are wasted if your business doesn’t live up to the initial promises.

That’s why we spend the time talking to our customers, sketching out ideas and ensuring that office signs we design and fabricate for them not only matches their marketing and branding but also enhances their image.

Think of the different businesses you frequent.

When you enter a doctor’s office you don’t expect – and probably don’t want – to see signs with neon, bold colors or unusual fonts. You want to see sophisticate, classic lettering and logos behind the reception desk and throughout the offices. You may see 3d lettering perhaps done in a brush satin aluminum finish.

You probably also want to see other interior enhancements – perhaps such as frosted windows – that ensure privacy.

Vinyl Etched Windows Cleveland

But if you saw classic, understated or old pictures at a hot new boutique, you’d be disappointed. That’s where you want to see trendy new wall signs. It indicates that the boutique and hair designer understands and embraces the latest trends. We can design custom signs made with various metals and acrylics.

3d wall lettering

My best advice to customers is to pursue your marketing and branding as if it’s the lifeblood of your company. It is. And that’s why you owe it to yourself to make sure your interior signage continues and builds upon your marketing and branding foundation.

That’s where we come in. We consult with our clients about their businesses, their philosophies, and the images they want to convey. Then we partner with our clients to develop the most appropriate, effective signage available that suits their budgets.

You spend a lot of time developing your marketing and branding. Complete the message with interior signage that work for you.

Posted by John Grigoli

Dimensional wall letters are a perfect sign option for the interior and exterior of a building. Due to the wide variety of materials and design options, you have the opportunity to shape your building’s look and feel with 3 dimensional letters that you pick from our samples.

Material and Design ChoicesLetter Sign Parma, Oh

Wall signs fabricated as dimensional lettering to be installed at Cleveland professional buildings may be made from plastic, metal, acrylic and also exterior grade hard foam.

Plastic Letters

Formed plastic is an excellent medium for the creation of 3D letters.
Metal letters in Independence, OhBusiness sign in Noth Olmsted, OhThese plastic letters come in a wide variety of colors and have three profile shapes available. They can be rounded, flat or even prismatic. Bold reds, metallic shades or beautiful pastels can suit any building environment. Since plastic is exceedingly durable, use of the letters is suitable for interior or exterior sign projects.

Acrylic or Metal Laminate Letters

Laminates are available on acrylic, or hard foam style letters. Metal laminate adds durability to the letters and an affordable way to add a true metal look. The combination of hard durable foam with laminate covering the 3D letters standsThick wall letters Richfield, Oh out significantly against the wall on which the letters are mounted as seen here. On multi-colored walls, the effect serves to heighten the color experience. On monochromatic walls, the effect is one of dramatic sophistication. These letters are excellent choices for the inside of the building.

Cast Metal

When you want to exude durability, time-tested professionalism and your confidence in a long-standing business relationship with clients and customers, cast metal is a hard-wearing classic option. These letters are made to last outside or inside for decades and you cannot beat the true look of brushed aluminum letters since they are naturally fabricated thick from 1/2" to 1".

Flat Cut Metal

Using precision lasers or water jet routing technology, our experts create stunningly crisp flat metal letters. Since they come in a variety of thicknesses, you can adapt the dimension of the signage you are creating. Opt for flatter signs for the look of elegance and use thick letters to make bold statement.

As you can see there are many options from which to choose when fabricating 3D custom letters. Call Epic Signs & Graphics for a free consultation and to see samples that we would be happy to show. How To Add An Interior Business Sign To Your Lobby!

Posted by John Grigoli

Nov 18, 2016 8:30:00 AM

When you have decided to get a lobby sign installed in your office waiting area, how do you decide what to get or who to call? If you do a little internet searching of all the images available to see, the results will produce really cool ideas for sure. The next question becomes...how much? That is a good question, because the person designing a sign idea for you needs to know your price range so he/she can determine what materials to use while considering other factors,,,,,read on to learn more!

Custom Wall Sign

What will the logo design and the slogan allow you to do with a sign?

Some times this could be a dilemma if the overall logo shape is different than the shape available for a wall sign. If the available space is 2 feet wide and 4 feet high, and the logo is more of a 4 feet wide x 2 feet high, what can you do about that? Short answer is...that depends. It will depend on the make up of the art if it can be modified or if the sign could be in such a way to use dimensional space like with thick letters. Art design matters and often times needs to be resized or even reworked so that it is usable for a sign situation.

How much can I reasonably spend?

As mentioned earlier, price will determine types of materials and how it can be constructed or if lights should be involved. A low side budget number may involve a panel sign with cut vinyl graphics applied with the panel mounted flat with decorative screws. A middle range business sign may involve dimensional letters and offsets for the panel so it is 1/2" to 1" off the wall. A high end office sign could have routed acrylics pushed through the sign face with LED lights inside to illuminate the letters with a nice glow. Price matters.

 Vinyl wall graphics

The above factors, design and price, will determine the type of interior business sign that will be installed in your office waiting area. Doing nothing really is not an option however, because when people visit they notice office signage when they walk in. It will make a statement about your organization.

If you need help deciphering the variables, do not hesitate to call Epic Signs & Graphics for help. We can survey your office space for sign opportunities, and create a design that will utilize the materials to best fit your budget. We provide free consultations on site or in our office and explain the materials available, the types of sign fabrication we can provide and all the other variables such as color, size, and routing or engraving possibilities.
