Directory signs are important for one main reason, it confirms the location of a destination such as an office someone is looking to go. If it is in an entry way of a building, customers can verify which floor they reside and take the elevator to the proper floor. With out a updated directory sign, they may not find your office. That is why NAI Daus gave us a call. They called about updating the existing directory sign in the main lobby and installing a new directory sign in the entry way of the back of the building. We quickly made our way out to the building they manage on the corner of Chagrin and I-271. By noting measurements and listening to the property manager, we put together an estimate and he gave us the green light.
The main lobby directory sign you see in the photo was updated with a 1/8" thick black acrylic base on the back as well as with new panels for the inside of the directory. After the existing directory was removed from the wall, the new base acrylic piece was screwed into place, and finally the original directory was mounted back into place over the black acrylic.
In the next photo, the back entry directory sign was carefully measured for the space it was going into and the number of tenants considered. With this information, we designed a directory with 3 columns and large header at the top. The overall framing is mounted to the wall and vinyl inserts were placed inside that were printed on our equipement. Our installers carefully assembled the columns and panels together.,
The office building directory sign is styled with a curve for a contemporary look. In addition the frame is painted a silver metallic to give it a metal finish. To complement the directory sign, we used metallic vinyl that was printed with blank ink directly onto the panels for eact tenant. The panels were trimmed to the precise for the panel openings and placed inside with a clear cover for protection.
When considering directory building signs, be sure to define a few requirements. These requirements include the number of tenants in the building and the largest name in the building so it will fit properly within a panel. Also consider the location of the sign for easy visibility and clarity to all users. The letters should be big enough for anyone to read.
